大连国际服装节不仅是国内服装行业的盛会，也是集经贸、文化、旅游为一体的盛大城市节日，至今已成功举办了十七届。每届都吸引着五大洲众多国家和地区的客商和
海内外政界要人、外交使节、新闻记者、旅游者前来参加。作为服装节的重要活动--大连国际服装博览会，今年升格为国家级展会，并更名为中国（大连）国际服装纺织品博览会，由商务部、中国纺织工业协会和大连市人民政府共同主办。
第十八届大连国际服装节将于2006年9月9日至16日举办，首届中国（大连）国际服装纺织品博览会也将于2006年9月9日至9月12日举办。届时将推出开幕式大型歌舞晚会、首届中国（大连）国际服装纺织品博览会、巡游狂欢表演、2006“大连杯”中国青年时装设计大赛暨中国国际服装创意设计大赛、2006大连世界名师时装展演、中国（大连）国际服装纺织品博览会高层论坛、广场文艺演出、品牌服装促销、游园会、闭幕式焰火晚会等十项大的活动。

Located in the southern tip of China's Liaodong Peninsula and surrounded by
mountains and seas, Dalian is a city of scenic beauty and mild climate. It
covers an area of 12,500 square kilometres, which is inhabited by a population
of 5.9 million. Dalian is an important city with natural harbours,
well-established industry; it also plays an important role in trade and tourism
for the North of China.
The Dalian International Fashion Festival, which has been successfully held
for 17 years, is not only a grand occasion for domestic fashion industry, but
also a splendid event that brings together economic and trade activites, culture
and tourism for the city. Each event has attracted businessmen from many
countries and regions of different continents. It has also attracted
participants including political personages, diplomatic envoys, journalists and
tourists both home and overseas. The Dalian International Garment Fair, the
major activity of the Fashion Festival, has been upgraded to national-level and
is renamed China (Dalian) International Garment & Textile Fair this year,
and will be jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, China National Textile
and Apparel Council and Dalian Municipal People*s Government.
The 18th Dalian International Fashion Festival will be held from September 9
to16, 2006, while China (Dalian) International Garment & Textile Fair will
be held from September 9 to 12, 2006. There will be 10 major activities during
the fair, including the Grand Gala for the Opening Ceremony, the First China
(Dalian) International Garment & Textile Fair, the Carnival & Mass
Parade, 2006 Dalian Cup China Young Fashion Designers Contest & China
International Original Fashion Design Contest, 2006 Dalian World Masters'Haute
Couture Collections, High Level Forum for China (Dalian) International Garment
& Textile Fair, the Square Shows, the Brand Apparels Promotion, the Garden
Party, Fireworks for the Closing Ceremony, etc.
It is golden September days for rich dress which can only be seen in the
harvest season. It is a time that joy and passion joins their hands. It is also
a time that fashion embraces the romantic events. With full enthusiasm and
